iThoughts is a mindmapping tool available for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. It also has versions for Mac and Windows. Mindmapping is a powerful way to visually organize your thoughts, ideas, and information.

The highlights of iThoughts include its ability to import and export from many popular desktop application formats such as MindManager, iMindmap, Freemind/Freeplane, Novamind, XMind, Mindview, ConceptDraw, OPML (OmniOutliner, Scrivener etc.), Excel/Numbers (CSV), Markdown, Plain/rich text. It also supports import-only for CMAP, Scapple, Mindmeister, Mindnode, Mindmapper, SimpleMind, and MyThoughts.

iThoughts also provides export options including MS Powerpoint/Keynote (PPTX), MS Word/Pages (DOCX), MS Project (XML), PDF, PNG, Markdown, Website (HTML + attachments), Flashcard (Quizlet.com / Cram.com), Things (Task Management App), and iCloud Calendar/Reminders.

iThoughts plays nicely with various features and functionalities such as iOS Document Picker for iCloud, Dropbox, and OneDrive access, Dark Mode, Drag and Drop, Full page screenshots, Siri integration, Multitasking with side by side windows, Handoff for seamless editing across devices, email attachments, sharing options (Twitter, Facebook, and other apps like GoodReader, Keynote, Pages), Cut/Copy/Paste within and between maps and other apps (e.g., Mail, Safari, and Notes), community generated maps from Biggerplate, and iOS handwriting to text (scribble) support.

The flexibility of iThoughts is evident through its customizable topic attributes including color/shape, images/icons, notes, rich text (using Markdown), hyperlinks to websites, other maps, and other topics), callouts/floating topics, boundaries/groups, auto-numbering, named relationships between topics, and style support with predefined collections of colors, fonts, shapes etc.

For task management purposes, iThoughts allows you to assign start/due dates, effort, progress, priority, and resources. You can also email task reports by project or resource.

With advanced mindmap features such as multiple layouts (horizontal, vertical, fishbone etc.), multiple link styles (curved, tapered, right angled etc.), embedded documents (PDF, XLS, DOC etc), over 100 built-in icons and 90 clipart images, over 30 background canvas patterns with the option to import more designs and 14 system 'Map Styles', iThoughts offers great customization choices. Other features include Doodle (finger drawing), multiple topic selection, search and replace text within topics and notes., filter topics by text or date. It also supports external Bluetooth keyboard and projector. Rule-based sorting including continuous sorting is available alongside encrypted and password-protected maps integrated with TouchID and FaceID. Additional features such as Outline View, Topic Summaries, Conditional Formatting, and LaTeX are also supported.
